Where to start?

Building a new care home or refurbishing an existing home is an exciting but often, daunting prospect.

The interior design process is a key element to a successful project and the intergration of this process into the main build programme is essential to ensure a seamless and considered finish which meets your aspirations.

There are so many elements to consider and decisions to make that it can sometimes be difficult to know where and when to start and many of these decisions can often have knock-on effects to other parts of the build, the programme and the budget.

Often the design process will require the input of a number of different people within your organisation and it can be difficult to know when and how to manage this input.

This is where we come in. Whatever stage your project is at, we put together a programme for the interior design process which ties in with your contractor’s critical programme dates, to ensure they have the information they need to keep the build running smoothly.

Of course, we like to be involved in a project as early as possible as we can often add value, working in conjunction with your Architect, at the building space planning stage to lay out spaces with realistic furniture arrangements to suit how you will use the space and including the circulation routes you would need. However we can join the team at any stage and get involved as much or as little as you require to suit the stage of the project and your budget.

The Design Process

From our initial, in depth meetings with you and your team, we develop a robust brief and schedule of requirements to work to, setting out your aspirations and encapsulating all your ideas, operational prerequisites and material requirements for the project.

We then agree a time-frame for the design stages to tie in with the build programme, including dates for presentation of the full design schemes, which can be carried out in stages if required to meet the contractor’s need for information.

The presentations will include image and sample boards showing every item or material being used on the project and will act as a full record of the design.

With our design experience and robust briefing methods we are confident that you will be delighted with the design schemes we create for your home, however we are happy to provide alternatives should you not be completely happy.

When you are entirely happy with all the design elements of the project, we produce a full, clear and robust package of information for issue to your contractors and suppliers.

The Finished Project

Throughout the build process we are on hand to respond to any queries with regard to the issued information and to quickly resolve any design decisions that inevitably crop up on site.

We can provide a full, on-site design management service, attending site and Design Team meetings and carrying out snagging inspections to ensure the design is being implemented correctly.

We are able to offer a full procurement service for Artwork and Dressing, providing the essential finishing touches which are so crucial in turning the finished environment into a ‘lived-in’ space. We source considered and coordinated products from a wide range of quality suppliers and attend site when the fit-out work is complete to place these items and ensure the interiors scheme looks ‘just right’.

We strive to continually improve the services we provide, requesting  feedback from our clients and carrying out internal post project reviews to ensure that we are always offering our clients the best service possible.

Our objective is to build positive, long-term, collaborative relationships with our clients and we take great pride in the fact that a high percentage of our work is from repeat clients.

If you would like more information or to discuss a current or future project and how we can help you, please do not hesitate to contact us.
